Not thee

My love for comics runs deep. Dare I say my love for the science fiction and fantasy genres runs deeper. Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Lord of the Rings, The Foundation novel series by Isaac Asimov, Willow, Tron, Dune, The Matrix, Blade Runner, and I could go on and on about stories that have lit up my imagination and expanded my thinking mind through film, TV, books, comics and video games. When I started thinking about what my next comic book project was going to be, I wanted to pour that inseparable part of myself into it. I’d done superhero (Man-Child). I’d done supernatural (SEASONS). I’d even done a straight up drama (Lifeline). I wanted to create an epic. I wanted to world build and come up with words that don’t exist. I wanted to imagine.
The curveball? The story needed to fit into a one-shot comic because I’m crazy and wanted to challenge myself as a storyteller. And it’s here that the seeds to what would become The Fabled Offering were planted.
Something else was bothering me too. I couldn’t find any sci-fi or fantasy comics I wanted to read on the stands. That’s not to say there isn’t excellent stuff out there, but besides Rick Remender and Jerome Opena’s Seven to Eternity series or Descender/Ascender from Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen or a Jonathan Hickman book, I couldn’t tell you the last time I read a great sci-fi/fantasy comic. I made it my mission to make a comic I would pick up and read and adore from page one.
The Fabled Offering is that book.
In the coming months, I’m going to be sharing art, designs, and other behind-the-scenes info as we prepare for the Kickstarter launch this fall. The goal is to complete all of the art for the book before launch. Until then, I’ll leave you with a very brief description of the comic: “Grand Princess Aurelia must make an impossible choice to save herself in this sweeping sci-fi/fantasy one-shot.”
